Working within a 3m x 3m x 3m space to create a spatial-to-body relation experience, I started thinking about the first “room” we were ever in, the womb. The installation reimagines the experience of enclosure, comfort, and transformation.
Inspired by the changing shape of the womb during the 40 weeks of pregnancy, there are exactly 40 panels that make up the form.
Each of the panels are an interpretation of the womb shape during the pregnancy cycle, including the rotation of the fetus.
Each contours in the space are designed to support the human body, allowing the body to rest naturally within the space in any position.
